What Is the Bruno Out-Sider Scooter Lift?

The Bruno Out-Sider is an exterior-mounted mobility lift designed to transport scooters and power wheelchairs behind your vehicle. Its drive-on platform eliminates the need to manually lift your mobility equipment, while the powered operation makes loading and unloading more convenient.

The Out-Sider mounts to a Class II or Class III trailer hitch receiver and is available for a variety of vehicles, including minivans, SUVs, CUVs, pickup trucks, full-size vans, and select sedans. Vehicle and mobility device compatibility should be confirmed before installation.

Bruno Out-Sider Scooter Lift Features

  • Fully Powered Operation – Raises and stores your scooter or power wheelchair with the push of a button.
  • Drive-On/Drive-Off Platform – Allows you to drive your mobility device directly onto the platform without reversing.
  • Automatic Platform Folding – The platform folds up when the mobility device is not being transported.
  • Automatic Securement – Models with Hold-Tite systems automatically secure compatible scooters or power wheelchairs as the lift is raised.

Bruno Out-Sider User Requirements

The Out-Sider requires the user to be able to:

  • Walk from the front to the rear of the vehicle and back.
  • Stand for approximately 2–3 minutes.
  • Drive the mobility device onto and off the platform.
  • Hold down a button on the control arm while operating the lift.

Securement Requirements

Automatic Hold-Tite for Scooters:
No additional securement steps are required.

Automatic Hold-Tite for Powerchairs:
Release and swing the securement arm into position using one-handed operation.

Retractable Belts:
Lean over to operate the release lever and connect the hook to the receiver on the scooter or power wheelchair.

Swing-Away Option:
The user must be able to lean over, release the lever, and swing the lift away from the rear of the vehicle when access to the rear hatch or cargo area is needed.
